IKEA Israel expects NIS 310m sales at Rishon LeZion store

The 34,000-square meter store will be the biggest IKEA store in the Middle East.

IKEA Israel today unveiled its new store at the Me'uyan Soreq lot in Rishon LeZion. The retailer expects NIS 310 million in sales from two million visitors in 2010.

IKEA Israel spent NIS 400 million to build the new store, its second in Israel. The 34,000-square meter store will be the biggest IKEA store in the Middle East. The pedestrian path through the store is two kilometers long, with 46 display rooms. The store has 1,400 parking spaces, seven elevators, three escalators, a small cinema, and wheelchairs.

IKEA Israel CEO Shlomi Gabbai said that the store will carry the same products as the Netanya store.

IKEA Israel added that more than 20 million people have visited the Netanya store to date, and that awareness of the IKEA brand among Israelis was 97%.
