IEC, Bezeq bury the hatchet

The two have agreed on ways of expediting connection of Bezeq's NGN network to the power grid.

Peace has broken out between Bezeq (TASE: BZEQ) and Israel Electric Corporation (IEC). A few days after the clash between them over Bezeq's claims that IEC was delaying the deployment of its new network, followed by a demand by IEC for a public apology, representatives of the companies met today to smooth things over.

IEC VP for customer service Asher Dahan and Yuval Keinan, VP Engineering at Bezeq, and other senior managers from the two companies, agreed at the meeting that the connection of the NGN high-speed Internet network to the electricity grid would be expedited, and discussed ways of speeding up the connection of the MSAG advanced telecommunications cabinets to the grid.

Keinan expressed appreciation of IEC's efforts on the matter to date, and added that Bezeq was aware of the accelerating progress in connecting the advanced network to the electricity grid.

Dahan said that "IEC sees the deployment of Bezeq's NGN network as an important project, and is devoting its best efforts to it."

The NGN network is based on advanced telecommunications cabinets deployed throughout the country that require power supply.
