Major private equity fund looks to Israeli operations

Silver Lake is considered the world's largest investment company in technology.

US private equity fund Silver Lake is entering Israel, and appointed Yehuda Doron as a senior advisor in the firm's middle market technology arm, Silver Lake Sumeru. Doron will also oversee the firm's Israeli operations.

Silver Lake is considered the world largest investment company in technology. Silver Lake co-CEOs Jim Davidson and Glenn Hutchins, and chairman Dave Roux founded the firm in 1999. The firm has $14 billion under management through three funds, and has offices in New York, San Francisco, London, Hong Kong, and Tokyo. Doron's appointment will lead to the opening of an office in Israel.

Silver Lake Sumeru investment does not invest in technology start-ups, but in mid-sized companies with attractive growth forecasts. Ajay Shah is the firm's managing director.

Based in Tel Aviv, Doron will oversee the deal flow of Israeli companies.
