Osama bin Laden's Jerusalem home for sale

An East Jerusalem lawyer is offering a house once owned by the terrorist's family.

For sale in Jerusalem: the house where the world's foremost terrorist once lived. A Jerusalem lawyer is offering for sale a house in East Jerusalem, that for a long time has been a magnet for local residents. According to the seller, the house was once the home of Osama bin Laden, head of the Al-Qaeda terror organization "This is a historic house, and to this day I have not talked about it with anybody," Adv. Mu'in Khoury told Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot."

The special property is located in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Shoafat, which before the unification of the city was considered one of the most prestigious in town. "Bin-Laden's father came from Saudi Arabia in the 1940s, bought the house, and lived in it from time to time," says the lawyer. "Osama also spent time there on several occasions in the '60s," he added.

But if you fancy purchasing the property, you should wait. "The house is not for sale to anyone. But if Osama makes me an offer, I will be willing to consider it," says Khoury. Since the Bin-Laden family owned the property, it has changed hands many times. After the Six Day War, it became state property, and was used as the office of the Spanish consul. Eventually, it was bought by Khoury, who put it up for sale today.

After the terrorist attacks on the US on September 11, 2001 by Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda organization, the house became a place of pilgrimage for local residents and the curious. Will bin Laden respond to the offer?
