magicJack network co installs Audiocodes

YMax CEO Dan Borislow: It became evident that we needed to implement AudioCodes' gateways exclusively.

Voice over IP (VoIP) technology and systems developer AudioCodes Ltd. (Nasdaq: AUDC; TASE: AUDC) said today that its equipment will be used by VocalTec Communications Inc/ (Nasdaq: CALL) unit YMax Communications Corporation.

YMax is the network provider for the magicJack and magicTalk VoIP service offerings. YMAx will use AudioCodes' Mediant 5000/8000 High Availability Gateways to enable high quality VoIP connectivity to the PSTN in dozens of its core switch locations in the US. The Audiocodes equipment will replace existing media gateways from another vendor and add to YMax's existing installed base of AudioCodes' media gateways. As part of the solution, another subsidiary of VocalTec, Stratus Telecommunications, provided the ENTICE SoftSwitch and core session border controller.

YMax founder and CEO Dan Borislow - and the inventor of the magicJack - said, "AudioCodes' gateways provide us with the ability to grow to any size with full redundancy. After utilizing AudioCodes' gateways for a number of years in our larger sites, in line with our strategic growth plans, it became evident that we needed to implement AudioCodes' gateways exclusively."

AudioCodes and YMax service teams carried out the replacement of existing gateways and installation of the Mediant 5000 gateways in just five days at many different YMax sites across the United States.

Audiocodes shares closed unchanged at $5.93 yesterday, giving a market cap of $240.46 million. The share price is near the top of its range over the past 52 weeks of $2.31-6.20.
