Cypriot MVNO deploys Amdocs solutions

The deal with PrimeTel is reportedly worth a few million dollars.

Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX) has deployed its compact convergence software with Cypriot carrier PrimeTel plc (Nicosia: PTL) for the launch of its mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) operations, the first in the country. Amdocs did not disclose the size of the contract, but similar contracts in the past have been estimated by market sources at a few million dollars.

Amdocs Compact Convergence will also support PrimeTel's existing fixed and broadband Internet and television services, replacing multiple systems. With a single system supporting all of its lines of business, PrimeTel will be able to introduce quad-play service bundles and promotions and reduce operational and maintenance costs.

Amdocs said that it has deployed its products with more than 25 MVNOs worldwide to date.

Amdocs's share price rose 1.5% yesterday to $29.79, giving a market cap of $5.71 billion.
