Landau: Our gasoline addiction fuels Arab terror

"Every time we pay for gasoline, we contribute 20-30% to states that support terror," Minister of National Infrastructure Uzi Landau told the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference.

Ladies and gentlemen, we are all addicted to gasoline, and until we decide to get up and do something about it, we will continue to be addicted, and to consume more and more and more," Minister of National Infrastructures Uzi Landau said today at the Eilat-Eilot Renewable Energy Conference.

"While our cars continue to swallow thirstily the oil that fuels Arab terror, the key to preserving our standard of living lies in their hands. And every time we pull out our wallets and pay for gasoline, we contribute between 20% and 30% to states that support terror. That is the money source that keeps radical Islam and Islamic terror running, and finances Al-Qaida and Hezbollah, and fuels the expansionist ambitions of fundamentalism and the Iranian nuclear project. The consequences of this addiction are clear.

"If the Western world is addicted to a drug, it is also dependent on those who supply it. The Western world must free itself from its dependence, and the State of Israel, with or without connection to the Western world, must achieve independence in the fuel that powers its vehicles."
