Bank of Ireland divisional risk partner Dermot Mullen said the move was an attempt to stay ahead of financial crime activity.

NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) financial compliance and crime detection unit NICE Actimize has won a deal with Bank of Ireland.

NICE Actimize said that its enterprise risk case manager, card fraud, and anti-money laundering solutions were chosen by Bank of Ireland as part of a single core financial crime platform.

Bank of Ireland divisional risk partner Dermot Mullen said the move was an attempt to stay ahead of financial crime activity, adding, "Banks that invest in technology to protect their customers simply run more efficient businesses and reduce their operational losses. NICE Actimize's technology will help us to build upon existing preventative measures and to detect potential illicit behavior early on by providing Bank of Ireland with additional ability to monitor activity occurring within and across different segments of our organization. "

Bank of Ireland will implement a number of NICE Actimize financial crime prevention solutions across its businesses that will address fraud and money laundering risks.

NICE shares were up around 1% in late afternoon trading in New York.
