All flights resume

The Israel Airports Authority has allowed the resumption after receiving assurances that fuel reserves at airports around Israel are in order.

The Israel Airports Authority has allowed the resumption after receiving written assurances that reserves of fuel at airports around Israel are in order.

All domestic flights were stopped this morning due to continuing concerns about contamination in jet fuel supplies provided by Paz Oil Company Ltd. (TASE:PZOL) whose units Paz Aviation Assets Ltd. and Paz Aviation Services Ltd. have the aviation fuel services contract. This morning's concerns were focused on a fuel filter at Tel Aviv's Sde Dov Airport.

After disruptions on Thursday, international flights have been operating normally with carriers aware of the problem and refueling in neighboring countries where necessary. Since Saturday there have been no delays in international flights. This procedure will continue until Paz receives the results of examples of fuel sent to a laboratory in Germany.

Meanwhile Minister of National Infrastructures Uzi Landau has set up a committee of enquiry to investigate the fuel contamination at Ben Gurion Airport. The committee has been asked to submit its interim findings by the end of the month.
