New desalination plant completed

GES has completed a new brackish water desalination plan at Moshav Talme Yaffe near Ashkelon, and delivered it to Mekorot.

Global Environmental Solutions Ltd. (GES) has completed construction of a new brackish water desalination plan at Moshav Talme Yaffe near Ashkelon. The facility has been transferred to Mekorot National Water Company and will be officially inaugurated later this week in a ceremony with Minister of National Infrastructures Uzi Landau.

The facility took two years to build at a cost of NIS 60 million. The facility can desalinate 20,000 cubic meters of brackish water a day. GES said that, within a year, the facility's production can be doubled to 40,000 cubic meters of brackish water a day or 14 million cubic meters a year.

GES said, "This is one of the most advanced facilities in the world, thanks to the innovative technologies used in it."

GES is a subsidiary of Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) unit Granite Hacarmel Investments Ltd. (TASE: GRNT).
