Peres launches program for Israel's teen inventors

65 teens between the ages 13 and 16 are currently enrolled in the program.

In the garden at the President's House in Jerusalem this morning, President Shimon Peres and Minister of Education Gideon Sa'ar launched the Israeli future inventor and scientist program, in cooperation with the Rashi Foundation, headed by CEO Eli Elalouf. High-tech industry leaders are also involved in the project, including Check Point Software Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq: CHKP) chairman and CEO Gil Shwed.

65 teens between the ages 13 and 16 are currently enrolled in the program. These outstanding students are taking advanced science classes at universities, and are being trained by top experts to be Israel's engineering, technological, and scientific future. The program was established to preserve Israel's advantages and standing in science and technology.

Industry leaders came to the program's launch to meet the representatives of Israel's future up close, and to see these youths' projects, including Keter Plastic chairman Sammy Segol, entrepreneur Yossi Vardi, Dov Lautman, Ramon Fund Committeewoman Rona Ramon, Elbit Systems VP Haim Rousso, former Motorola Israel GM Elisha Yanai, Dan Vilenski, former Applied Materials Israel chairman Yoel Carasso, and Manufacturers Association president Shraga Brosh.
