Eldan to buy hundreds of Better Place electric cars
Eldan, the largest car rental and operational leasing company in Israel, will be the first company to offer electric cars to its customers.
Eldan, the largest car rental and operational leasing company in Israel, will be the first company to offer electric cars to its customers in Israel and from overseas. The company will launch a package to it clients that rent and lease electric cars, including monthly subscription packages and discounted rates.
As the date on which the first electric cars are expected to arrive in Israel approaches, Eldan will begin marketing electric cars to companies and private customers in the upcoming months. According to the contract, leasing customers that choose an electric car will sign a leasing agreement with Eldan, and an additional agreement with Better Place, which will provide customer service.
Eldan co-CEO Shai Dahan said, “Eldan and Better Place are both companies that have grown in the Israeli market and are leaders in their industry. It is only natural that we work together. We are pleased to be the first company to offer drivers the opportunity to enjoy a new driving experience, and we call upon other companies to join the green trend with us.”
A few months ago, Better Place signed a similar purchase agreement for a few hundred cars with Albar car leasing company. The purchase of a few hundred cars is considered a small amount for large leasing companies, some of which purchase 12,000-25,000 new cars annually.
