Alvarion signs follow-on Uruguay contract

Dedicado Telecomunicaciones is buying more Alvarion products to expand its network for business customers in Montevideo.

Alvarion Ltd. (Nasdaq: ALVR; TASE: ALVR) has signed a follow-on contract with Uruguayan carrier Dedicado Telecomunicaciones SA to provide wireless broadband services to its corporate customers in the country's capital and business center, Montevideo. Alvarion did not disclose the size of the deal.

In 2011, Dedicado deployed Uruguay’s first 4G network with Alvarion’s 4Motion end-to-end solution, in the licensed 3.5 GHz range. Dedicado is now seeking to expand this network and to boost its capacity for business customers. It has consequently purchased more 4Motion products and Alvarion’s Point-to-Multipoint WALKair 5000 solution.

Alvarion's share price rose 1.3% in morning trading on the TASE today to NIS 1.78, after rising 1.6% on Nasdaq yesterday to $0.47, giving a market cap of $29 million.
