Cloud services co Garantia Data raises $3m

Investors in the seed funding included Zohar Gilon and The Time Innovations.

Cloud services developer Garantia Data has announced that it has closed seed funding of $3 million from leading angel investors. These investors include serial start up investor Zohar Gilon, investors who seed funded StoreWise, which was acquired by IBM in 2010, and The Time Innovations, which invests in media start up companies.

In June 2012, Garantia Data launched its fully automated, in-memory NoSQL cloud services at GigaOm’s Structure LaunchPad.

Garantia Data also said that it was recently accepted into the AWS Partner Network (APN) and is among the first AWS Partners ever to gain public designation as a Standard Technology Partner.

Garantia Data CEO Ofer Bengal said, “Demand for our Redis Cloud and Memcached Cloud has grown since we launched our beta earlier this summer. We will use the funds to help fulfill and fuel this demand as well as expand the breadth of our offering. Our new APN Standard Technology Partner status is recognition of the value we provide to AWS Redis and Memcached cloud developers seeking better solutions for these ultra-fast in-memory data stores.”

Garantia Data offers developers fully automated cloud services for hosting their Redis and Memcached datasets in a reliable and fail-safe manner. The company’s Redis and Memcached Clouds free developers from dealing with nodes, clusters, scaling, data-persistence configuration and failure recovery, while guaranteeing absolutely no data loss.

Garantia Data's services are currently being offered free of charge to early adopters during the beta phase. The company was founded in 2011 by Bengal and CTO Yiftach Shoolman. Garantia Data is headquartered in Santa Clara, California and has its R&D center in Tel Aviv.
