The Ministry of Housing and Construction and the Israel Land Authority have announced the marketing of land for 5,000 housing units nationwide, in both high-demand areas and in the periphery, as well as for minorities. The ministry said that it has marketed land for 25,000 housing units since the beginning of the year, adding that it would again strive to meet the government's target for the marketing of land for 35,000 housing units a year, this year too, after meeting the target in 2010 and 2011.
The latest round of marketing includes land for 2,300 apartments in Haifa and its suburbs Nesher, Tirat Hacarmel, and Kiryat Bialik. 30 lots will be marketed for build-your-own-home projects in the Druze town of Dalyat al-Carmel, and land for 96 housing units will be marketed in Yokne'am under price per tenant tenders which include a 50% discount on the price of the land.
Lots will also be marketed in Ashdod, Ashkelon, Kiryat Malakhi, and Beit Shemesh. In the north, land for 1,150 apartments will be marketed in Afula, Rosh Pina, Katzrin, and Kiryat Shmona.
