Unemployment jumps to 7.3%

Unemployment rose from 6.9% in September. The number of unemployed rose to 267,000 in October from 250,000 in September.

The unemployment rate jumped to 7.3% in October 2012 (original data) from 6.9% in September, the Central Bureau of Statistics reported today. Seasonally adjusted unemployment rose to 7%.

The number of unemployed rose to 267,000 in October from 250,000 in September.

At the same time, participation in the labor force of people over the age of 15 fell to 63.8% in October from 64.1% in September.
