Apple finally launches iTunes in Israel
Nine years after its inception, users in Israel can now download a song from the iTunes store for NIS 3 and an album for NIS 30.
The store's catalogue contains 20 million online songs including (exclusively) the entire repertoire of the Beatles. The price for downloading each song is NIS 3 while an album costs NIS 30. Purchases can be made by credit card and by setting up an iTune user account.
Apple also offers the Music Match service in Israel for NIS 90. This service lets users synchronize all the songs on their computer that were not purchased from the Apple store. The service scans all the songs on the computer and identifies those that are in the iTunes store and synchronizes them with all the Apple products of the user.
Apple commenced its iTunes service in Israel together with a launch in Russia, Turkey, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and 48 other countries.
