Tel Aviv festival to showcase boutique beers

The 3rd Israeli beer festival, Beer 2013, will open tomorrow at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv.

Israeli boutique beer long ago became a tasting experience for gourmands. Popular longstanding labels are being replaced by young entrepreneurs who one day decide to cook some wheat and malt to create new flavors for the palate.

The 3rd Israeli beer festival, Beer 2013, will open tomorrow at the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv, where 200 types of beer will be presented. At the festival, even fans of Goldstar, Tuborg, and Heineken might be surprised that there are beers which are just as good available over the counter at the local pub.

Beers at the festival will include Shibolet, a private brewery; Malka Beer, which will offer a special porter-style draft beer for the winter; and Golan Brewery (which already produces Bazelet beer, a popular label in restaurants and pubs) will also present a new beer.
