Thu: Tel Aviv 25 down 1.3% on week

The market was flat today as Israel Chemicals rose on the day's biggest turnover after signing major Chinese potash contracts.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) was mixed today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.08% to 1,207.67 points, but the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.08% to 1,070.86 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.74% to 317.47 points. Turnover was NIS 716.3 million.

The TASE split today, despite gains on European markets and at the opening on Wall Street. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 1.3% this week, after rising 1.1% last week.

In the foreign currency market, options pointed to a 0.12% drop in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate to NIS 3.794/$, and no change in the shekel-euro exchange rate at NIS 4.97/€.

In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds were unchanged and long term Galil CPI-linked government bonds fell by up to 0.3%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.01%.

In the stock market, EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: EZCH; TASE:EZCH) fell 1.5% for the biggest drop among Tel Aviv 25 shares, but Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) rose 2.6%.

Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) rose 2.8% for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) rose 0.3% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 73 million, after signing contracts with Chinese customers for the sale of 660,000 tons of potash. Its parent company, Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO), also rose 0.3%.

The banks continued to slide, led by a 1.1% drop by Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI). Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) fell 0.2%.

On the Tel Aviv 100 Index, insurance companies rebounded, led by a 3.5% gain by Harel Insurance Investments and Financial Services Ltd. (TASE: HARL) and 2.9% gain by Menorah Mivtachim Holdings Ltd. (TASE: MORA).

Also on the index, Babylon Ltd. (TASE:BBYL) rose 7.1% and Nova Measuring Instruments Ltd. (Nasdaq:NVMI; TASE:NVMI) rose 6.7%.

Eden Springs Ltd. (Maayanot Eden) (TASE: MEYD) rose 10.8% on reports of a possible buyer for or partner in the bottled water company.
