Gilat wins Indian Tata Group contract

The company will supply up to 30,000 satellite terminals for ATM sites throughout India.

Gilat Satellite Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: GILT; TASE: GILT) has won a large contract in India to supply up to 30,000 SkyEdge VSAT (very small aperture terminals) through mid-2014. Gilat will supply the terminals to Tata Group subsidiary Nelco Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. Today's contract is the second this week, following a contract in Mexico.

The contract is part of India's Ministry of Finance ATM initiative to provide accessible financial services to people across the country, regardless of income, by deploying thousands of new ATM sites nationwide.

Gilat regional VP Asia Stephane Palomba said, "With over 100,000 satellite terminals in operation across India today through various licensed service providers, Gilat is a veteran provider of satellite broadband communications in the country, and a leading provider of VSAT solutions for the local banking and finance industry."
