Sun: Teva buoyed by Q4 financials

Strong gains by Teva failed to boost the market as an early rally faded.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.16% to 1,212.35 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.18% to 1,083.12 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.31% to 321.18 points. Turnover was NIS 633 million.

The TASE rose slightly today, after strong gains were erased in late trading, in line with gains on European markets and on Wall Street on Friday.

In the foreign currency market, options pointed to a 0.08% drop in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate, to NIS 3.692/$, and a 0.10% drop in the shekel-euro exchange rate NIS 4.952/€.

In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government rose by up to 0.1% and long term Galil CPI-linked government ranged between losses of 0.1% and gains of 0.3%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.17%.

In the stock market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 2.8% for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares, on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 44.3 million, after publishing its financials on Thursday. Harel Finance said today, "The results were unsurprising, but the higher dividend is a positive signal." It reiterated its "Buy" recommendation with a target price of $47.

Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) fell 2.4% for the biggest loss among Tel Aviv 25 shares, and Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) fell 0.2%, but Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.4%.

Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) fell 2.3% and 1.8%, respectively, and their parent company, Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fell 1.3%.

Small-cap Modiin Energy LP (TASE:MDIN.L) fell 8.7% amid more trouble from its partners in the Gabriella license. Israel Land Development Company Energy Ltd. (TASE: IE) fell 12.3%.

In the life sciences, Allium Medical Ltd. (TASE: ALMD) rose 53.5%, after announcing the start of a clinical trial for its Wirion embolism protection system. BiolineRX Ltd. (Nasdaq: BLRX); TASE:BLRX) rose 7.9%, and Brainsway Ltd. (TASE:BRIN) rose another 13.6%
