The lack of rainfall in the past couple of weeks means there is now little chance that the Kinneret will reach a record level.
The water level of the Kinneret rose a further five centimeters over the weekend to 210.36 meters below sea level. The water level is now 2.65 above the lower red line, and 1.56 meters below the upper red line, which denotes that the lake is full.
The lack of rainfall in the past couple of weeks has greatly slowed the pace at which the Kinneret's water level is rising, and there is now little chance that it will reach a record level. The water level usually rises through mid-May, and at the present rate, it will rise by a further 0.90-1.10 meters this winter rainy season.
The Kinneret's water level rose by 12 centimeters in the past week, an average of almost 2 centimeters per day.
