Jordan reportedly in talks on buying Israeli gas

Noble Energy has led talks on the subject for several weeks.

Jordanian media report that Arab Potash Company is in talks to buy natural gas from Israel. Buying Israeli gas would greatly lower the company's production costs, says the report, citing a statement issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

Sources inform ''Globes'' that Noble Energy Inc. (NYSE: NBL) has led talks on the subject for several weeks, with the knowledge of Israel's Ministry of Energy and Water Resources. Linking Arab Potash Works with Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) would be a fairly simple project, since Israel Chemicals already receives natural gas at its facilities on the Israeli side of the Dead Sea.
