Kinneret at 8-year high despite dry period
The Kinneret's water level rose by 2.5 centimeters over the weekend and is now 1.30 meters below the upper red line.
From Thursday morning through Sunday morning, the Kinneret's water level rose by 2.5 centimeters to 210.95 meters below sea level. The water level is now 1.30 meters below the upper red line, which denotes that the lake is full, and 2.90 meters above the lower red line.
The Kinneret's water level has reached an eight-year high (since the winter and spring of 2005). It is expected to continue to rise slowly for six-eight more weeks, after Mekorot National Water Company recently resumed pumping from the lake.
