The Kinneret water level rose by 23 centimeters during March to 209.95 meters below sea level.
The severe dry spell that began in February continued through March, with rainfall far below the multiyear average for the two months, the Hydrology Services reported today. Total precipitation in September-March was 109% of the multiyear average, and 102% of the winter rainy season as a whole, after one of the wettest Januarys on record.
During March, water flow in the Dan springs and Taninim springs fell, and water flow in the Banias springs was stable.
The water level of the Kinneret rose by 23 centimeters during March to 209.95 meters below sea level on April 1. The available water volume was 53 million cubic meters in February, well below the annual average for March.
The water level of the Dead Sea rose by four centimeters in March to 426.82 meters below sea level on April 1. Its water level fell by 24 centimeters during the rainy season.
