SodaStream to triple size of Galilee plant

The enlarged Alon Tavor carbonated beverages factory will add over 100 new jobs to the Galilee.

Home carbonated beverages company SodaStream International Ltd. (Nasdaq: SODA) is tripling the size of its production plant at Alon Tavor in the Galilee, even as it continues to build a plant at the Lehavim industrial zone in the Negev.

Most of the production from Alon Tavor facility will be exported to SodaStream’s 45 global markets, including Brazil, Canada, France, Japan, Switzerland, Sweden, and the US, as well as for the domestic Israeli market. SodaStream estimates that its products are found in 10% of Israeli homes, and sales are growing rapidly.

"This second site in Alon Tavor more than doubles our final assembly output for soda makers in this location, and adds over 100 new jobs to the Galilee” said SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum. "Our 22 facilities worldwide and several new ones pending will help ensure that our company will meet the strong, growing demand for our products worldwide, and that we will continue to be the market leader in home carbonation."
