Steinitz: Investors may flee Israel

Minister of International Relations and Strategic Affairs Yuval Steinitz warns over populist incitement against investors.

Minister of International Relations and Strategic Affairs has warned that investors may flee Israel in a speech at the Milken Institute Global Conference in Los Angeles.

Steinitz said, "Populism and incitement against the word profits may cause investors to flee Israel." We must rebuff populism, he added, and refrain from changing the Law for the Encouragement of Capital Investment.

Steinitz added that the struggle against unemployment and encouraging growth has succeeded because of a dramatic rise in investments in recent years.

During the conference, Steinitz held a number of diplomatic meetings including with quartette representatives Tony Blair and Eric Cantor, the majority leader in the US House of Representatives.
