Sun: Delek's energy exploration units drag TASE down

Avner and Delek Drilling lost ground, while Israel Chemicals fell on the day's largest turnover.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.13% to 1,203.01 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.06% to 1,080.21 points, but the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.41% to 300.61 points. Turnover was NIS 568.7 million.

After initial gains, the leading TASE indices fell today, despite gains on European markets and on Wall Street on Friday.

The TASE said that the average daily turnover was NIS 1 billion in April and NIS 1.1 billion for the year to date.

In the foreign currency market, options point to a 0.33% drop in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate, to NIS 3.557/$, and no change in the shekel-euro exchange rate at NIS 4.673/€.

In the bond market, both long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds fell by up to 0.1% and long term Galil CPI-linked government ranged between losses of 0.6% and gains of 0.2%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.27%

In the stock market, Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) fell 0.8% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 33 million.

Paz Oil Company Ltd. (TASE:PZOL) fell 1.5% and Oil Refineries Ltd. (TASE:ORL) fell 1.3%, for the biggest losses among Tel Aviv 25 shares.

NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) bucked the market, rising 1.3%, for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Its high-tech peers, EZchip Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: EZCH; TASE:EZCH) rose 0.3%, but Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) fell 0.8%.

The Oil and Gas Index fell 0.9% today, led by 1.2% drops by Tamar and Leviathan partners Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L), while their parent company, Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG), was unchanged. The index rose 3% last week, for the biggest gain among TASE sectoral indices.

Elsewhere in the market, Shemen Oil and Gas Resources Ltd. (TASE: SOG) rose 9.4%, after obtaining an extension to its Yam 3 license through the end of June.

On the Tel Aviv 100 Index, Alony Hetz Property and Investments Ltd. (TASE: ALHE) rose 3.1%, after signing binding agreements with Call Properties to invest $300 million in greater Washington DC.

Stock market shell Best Fuel Ltd. (TASE: BSFL) rose 3.1%, after Noam Lanir acquired the company.
