Kfar Saba introduces automatic parking tickets

Cameras in Kfar Saba will photograph illegally parked cars after just three minutes.

The Kfar Saba Municipality has introduced automatic cameras for parking tickets instead of traffic wardens. Even if you stop for a moment, and after ensuring that you are not disrupting traffic, even if you feel ill or the car has broken down, and park for three minutes, you will be fined. Go and try to prove in your appeal against the fine that you were ill, or had a breakdown, or were waiting for a handicapped or elderly passenger, who cannot walk far.

The Kfar Saba Municipality follows the Tel Aviv-Jaffa Municipality's new method against illegal parking. In Tel Aviv, a fine will be mailed to the owner of an illegally parked car if a traffic warden photographs it, even if the driver is at the wheel, and was not given the opportunity to move it.

The Kfar Saba Municipality said in response, "In areas watched by the surveillance cameras and illegal parking enforcement, there are signs clearly explaining the matter. The claim that driver cannot know about it is groundless. It is also important to point out that drivers have the right to appeal against the fine, and give an explanation in writing within the period of time set by law to the relevant municipal authorities."
