Hebrew daily "Yediot Ahronot" reports that, after falling for two months, the price of gasoline will rise again this weekend. The price of gasoline will reportedly rise by NIS 0.20 per liter. If the VAT hike comes into effect as planned, it will raise the price of gasoline by a further NIS 0.05 per liter.
The price of gasoline, including the VAT hike, will be NIS 7.50 per liter, from June 1.
In the past two month, consumers have enjoyed a reduction of NIS 0.69 per liter in the price of gasoline, a drop of 8.5%.
The final price of gasoline for June will be set on Thursday, on the basis of the shekel-dollar exchange rate on that day and the average quotes of CIF La Vera trade prices for fuels in the Mediterranean basin, which are then converted from dollars into shekels.
