The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.03% to 1,227.86 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.18% to 1,102.09 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.29% to 306.42 points. Turnover was NIS 1.21 billion.
In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.627/$, down 0.41% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.814/€, down 0.52%.
In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds rose by to 0.2% and long term Galil CPI-linked government ranged between losses of 0.1% and gains of 0.1%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.27%
In the stock market, Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT) fell 2.9% on the day's largest turnover of NIS 182 million after the company's NIS 250 million offering failed yesterday, and the company was compelled to lower the price per share today in another attempt to raise the capital. The Real Estate Index fell 1.1%.
Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1% on news that the company will pay Pfizer $1.6 billion compensation for the violation of a patent.
Mellanox Technologies Ltd. (Nasdaq:MLNX; TASE:MLNX) fell 3.6% after sharp falls on Nasdaq yesterday and ahead of the company being taken off the Tel Aviv 25 Index next week ahead of its delisting on September 1.
The Insurance Index fell 1.4% with Harel Insurance Investments and Financial Services Ltd. (TASE: HARL) down 1.7%.
In contrast the Communications Index rose 1.6% with Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rising 2.7%.
Small-cap Flowsense Medical Ltd. (TASE: FLSN), which develops urine control and renal treatment systems, rose 26.5% after announcing it was being acquired by US giant Baxter Healthcare.
