SodaStream teams with KitchenAid

SodaStream and KitchenAid will develop a home carbonation system for KitchenAid's kitchen appliances and tools.

SodaStream International Ltd. (Nasdaq: SODA) has teamed up with KitchenAid to jointly develop a home carbonation system for the KitchenAid portfolio of kitchen appliances and culinary tools. The companies are planning the retail launch of the soda maker in the fourth quarter of 2013. The companies did not disclose the terms of the deal.

“KitchenAid is an iconic global brand and we welcome them to the SodaStream revolution,” said SodaStream CEO Daniel Birnbaum. “Our unique platform will enable KitchenAid to provide its large and loyal consumer base with the many benefits of home carbonation. We look forward to leveraging the combined strengths of our two brands to advance the category and reach an even broader global audience.”
