Sun: Tel Aviv 25 down 3.4% in June, up 0.4% in first half of 2013

Israel Corp recorded the biggest gain on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Teva rose on the day's biggest turnover.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index edged up 0.07% to 1,190.50 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.18% to 1,071.45 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.35% to 300.11 points. Turnover was NIS 461.7 million.

The TASE edged up in thin trading today, despite losses on European markets and on Wall Street in Friday. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 3.4% in June, after falling 1.8% last week, but rose 0.4% in the first half of the year

In the foreign currency market, options point to a 0.17% gain in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate, to NIS 3.624/$, and to a 0.24% gain in the shekel-euro exchange rate to NIS 4.731/€.

In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds rose by up to 0.1%, and long term Galil CPI-linked government rose by up to 0.6%. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.27%.

In the stock market, Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 2%, for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 0.7% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 45 million.

Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 0.5%, following the sale of a stake in its parent company B Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq:BCOM; TASE: BCOM) by its parent company Internet Gold Golden Lines Ltd. (Nasdaq: IGLD; TASE:IGLD) to Teddy Sagi on Thursday. B Communications and Internet Gold, which are on the Tel Aviv 100 Index, rose by 5.8% and 0.5%, respectively. Their bonds rose by 1.2% and 7.8%, respectively.

Food companies Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE:STRS) and Osem Investments Ltd. (TASE: OSEM) were the biggest losers among Tel Aviv 25 shares, down 1.8% and 1.5%, respectively.

Also on the Tel Aviv 100 Index, Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) rose 1.1%, after completing a rights issue.

Small-Cap BioView Ltd. (TASE:BIOV) rose 20.9%, after signing a distribution agreement with Abbott Laboratories Inc. (NYSE: ABT), Allium Medical Ltd. (TASE: ALMD) rose 20.6%, after obtaining an EU patent, and NasVax Ltd. (TASE: NSVX) rose 152.9%, after singing an memorandum of understanding for an investment with China's Acebright Holdings Ltd.
