Partner and Isracard to issue smart credit card

The Orange One credit card will combine customer benefits in Israel and overseas with the option of payment by electronic wallet, using NFC technology.

Mobile carrier Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) and credit card company Isracard Ltd. have signed a letter of intent to launch a credit card to be called Orange One. The credit card will combine customer benefits in Israel and overseas with the option of payment by electronic wallet, using new field communications (NFC) technology on mobile phones. The companies will launch the new credit card in a few weeks.

In a joint statement today, Partner and Isracard said that the new credit card will offer discounts, including for shows by international music stars, at retailers abroad, on orders of foreign currency, at duty-free shops, and an improved conversion rate at El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) and British Airways. There will also be discounts for stand-up, music, and theater performances, and 1+1 offers for tickets for movies, premier league football games, and basketball games. A location-based app for services will also be offered.

Partner VP marketing Zvika Seinfeld said, "The venture strengthens and consolidates the assets, advanced technologies, professional international service, and innovation of both partners, while integrating prestige and quality through collaboration of two prominent players in the Israeli market with track records in their fields and a strong service commitment, to create added value and differentiation in the consumer world."

Isracard VP marketing Yigal Barkat said, "The launch of the prestigious international Orange credit card, which includes innovative state-of-the-art technology, as seen in the mobile payments characteristic of the new consumer world. The unique collaboration with Orange will give customers the ability to benefit from special benefits."

Credit cardholders who will use their mobile accounts by more than NIS 149 per subscriber can join the Orange One club, and will benefit from personalized service on all channels, a short phone number, SMS, email address, and live chat, as well as a fixed 18% discount at select retailers.
