Cabinet approves Dorit Salinger as capital market supervisor

Salinger will succeed Prof. Oded Sarig, who has served in the post since January 2010.

The cabinet today approved the recommendation of Minister of Finance Yair Lapid to appoint Dorit Salinger as Supervisor of Capital Markets, Insurance and Savings. She will succeed Prof. Oded Sarig, who has served in the post since January 24, 2010.

Salinger served as VP at Standard & Poor's Maalot Ltd. for 13 years until 2011, after which she has served as a director and financial consultant at various companies. As a VP at Maalot, she amassed extensive knowledge of the credit system and the capital market, investment institutions, and investment houses. She has a B.A. in Economics and Administration from the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from Tel Aviv University.

Lapid said, "Dorit's extensive experience and professionalism acquired over the years will contribute to the Ministry of Finance. She will successfully lead the Capital Market Supervision Department in the face of its many challenges."

Ministry of Finance director general Yael Andoran said, "The extensive knowledge that Dorit has accumulated over many years of work in the capital market will help her move the department forward, and will strengthen the Ministry of Finance's management."
