App engagement co Appoxee raises $1.8m

The Tel Aviv based company will use the proceeds to expand its US operations and open an office in San Francisco by the end of the year.

Mobile app engagement platform Appoxee Ltd. has raised $1.8 million, expanding its seed round to $2.4 million. Lazarus Israel Opportunities Fund LLLP and former Microsoft Israel general manager Moshe Lichtman led the addition funding, and were joined by current investors, Cyhawk Ventures and Oryzn Capital. The company will use the proceeds to expand its US operations and open an office in San Francisco by the end of the year.

Appoxee, based in Tel Aviv, and founded in 2010 by CEO Itay Levy, is designed for app publishers. The company claims that it delivers almost 500 million push notifications and rich messages to iOS and Android users each month. Its services include push notifications, in-app messaging, multi-app messaging, audience profiling, location targeting, and campaign analytics.

“We’ve reached a tipping point where app developers understand they need to do more to keep users engaged with their app,” says Levy. “A download is meaningless if the user abandons the app. Our platform is smart, robust and makes it easy to get up and running quickly, which is exactly what app developers want."
