IEC to disconnect Better Place charging points

Electric vehicle owners are being asked to pay Israel Electric Corp. directly for recharging batteries.

Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) (TASE: ELEC.B22) is planning to end its service to recharging points for car owners from the electric car company Better Place, now in liquidation, due to the large debts that continue to accumulate.

“Israel Electric Corporation has done all it can to reach an arrangement to establish a payment plan with the various parties, among them the various buyers, but has not, to date, received the payments for the debts that accumulated, and continue to grow,” the company said.

Israel Electric Corporation is calling on all owners of Better Place cars to contact them by October 29, in order to register electric car owners living in apartment buildings as IEC customers.

“IEC makes it clear that it will be forced to cut off electric service to customers who do not make contact by this date - without further notice,” stated the company. “Customers interested in continuing to use the charging stations are welcome to contact the company’s 103 customer service hotline and arrange for their meters to be registered in their names.”
