"Ma'ariv" plans weekly English-language magazine

This would be "Ma'ariv's" second foray into "Jerusalem Post" territory after announcing the launch of a free daily evening edition.

"Ma'ariv" is planning a new weekly magazine on international affairs which will also appear in English. The magazine is due to come onto the market before the end of 2013 and replace the newspaper's current weekend supplement. The Hebrew version will be distributed with the newspaper and delve deeply into geopolitical issues, while the English version will be sold to subscribers in Israel and abroad.

"Maariv" confirmed that such plans are being considered but added, "at present it is still just a plan." Sources inform "Globes" that such a magazine has been one of Shlomo Ben-Tzvi's goals since the publisher bought the newspaper.

This would be Ben-Tzvi's second foray into territory in which the "Jerusalem Post" is active. On Sunday he announced at the Eilat Journalism Conference that "Ma'ariv" would publish an evening edition, which would be distributed at street corners for free.
