Former State Comptroller Judge (Emeritus) Micha Lindenstrauss today sharply criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, following the publication of his expenses report, calling it "sheer hedonism."
"There is hedonism," Lindenstrauss said in an interview with Razi Barkai on “IDF Radio" (Galei Zahal), "I defined this as personal extraneous considerations, or more accurately, the exploitation of a public position to secure forbidden personal benefits… I utterly reject hedonism. This is a serious matter. I pray that all the investigations into these cases will be carried out as we carried them out - thoroughly, in depth, and unbiased."
Minister of Finance Yair Lapid was also interviewed on "IDF Radio". He refused to criticize Netanyahu over his expenses, saying that he wished to wait for the review by the State Comptroller. "I will wait to hear what the State Comptroller has to say. That is the right thing to do. I am too experienced to put my foot in my mouth. I'll wait for the State Comptroller. I will respond after I read the Comptroller's report."
Lapid criticized Netanyahu for the confrontation with the US over the interim agreement signed with Iran. Asked about Bitcoins, he said, "It's fascinating. I'm a technological man by nature, I love computers, I live high tech - but to tell you that we have a particular policy… we have no position at the Ministry of Finance. The party responsible for this is the Bank of Israel."
Asked if he had bought Bitcoins, Lapid said, "I haven’t bought currencies, I have no shares, nothing."
