Storm boosts Kinneret 10 centimeters

The water level will continue to rise in the coming days, as snow on the surrounding hills melts.

The storm that hit Israel and the region in the past few days caused much damage, but it also benefitted aquifers and reservoirs, and of course the Kinneret (Sea of Galilee) as well.

The Water Authority reported this morning that the level of the Kinneret had risen by 10 centimeters since last Wednesday, when the storm began.

The surface of the Kinneret is now 211.30 meters below sea level, and lacks 2.5 meters before the lake is full.

The water level will continue to rise over the next few days, as snow that has fallen on the Upper Galilee and Golan Heights melts.
