Flash Networks acquires Mobixell for $10-20m

Mobixell develops mobile data management, network optimization, and rich media delivery solutions.

Mobixell Networks Ltd. has been acquired by Israeli-US mobile Internet optimization and monetization solutions provider Flash Networks Inc. The companies did not disclose the size of the deal, but sources estimate it at $10-20 million. The deal will be closed by the end of January.

Mobixell develops mobile data management, network optimization, and rich media delivery solutions. Flash Networks says that acquisition creates a combined market share that is larger than any other independent vendor, with hundreds of deployments, serving over one billion subscribers worldwide. It will enable Flash Networks to meet the growing demand for data optimization, acceleration, and monetization services following the explosive growth of new consumer devices, rich multimedia content, and high speed 3G, 4G, and LTE networks.

"With the ever growing demand for our offering, this collaborative venture is an important step in establishing our dominance in the global market," said Flash Networks president and CEO Liam Galin. "As the largest player in this domain - both in size and worldwide customer reach, our combined R&D strength will accelerate the speed of innovation to evolve our already ground breaking products. As we are interested in extending our position in the mobile operator market, Flash Networks is committed to continuing support of Mobixell's solutions and customers."

Mobixell CEO Klod Ghez said, "By combining our technological expertise and broad customer base, together with our mutual customer commitment, Flash Networks is uniquely positioned to enhance our offering and support our customers."
