Elbit Systems wins $15m Israel Air Force order

Elbit Systems will upgrade C-130H Hercules transport planes to meet strict international air traffic management standards.

Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) has won a $15 million follow-on contract from the Ministry of Defense to upgrade the Israeli Air Force (IAF) C-130H Hercules transport aircraft over two years.

Elbit Systems will add new capabilities to the C-130H planes, to enable them meet the stringent international CNS/ATM (Communications Navigation and Surveillance/Air Traffic Management) standard and operate in commercial airspace.

“We are proud to supply the IAF with new capabilities to meet demanding international standards. We have witnessed a growing demand for operability of transport aircraft in commercial airspace and trust that further customers will require similar capabilities for their transport fleets," said Elbit Systems Aerospace Division general manager Yoram Shmuely.
