The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 1.07% to 1,352.27 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 1.21% to 1,2245.14points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 1.15% to 361.62 points. Turnover was NIS 1.57 billion.
The TASE rose today, in line with gains on European markets and at the opening on Wall Street.
In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.483/$, down 0.17% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.741/€, down 0.60%.
In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government and long-term Galil CPI-linked government bonds fell. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.02%.
In the stock market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 7.2%, for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares and on the biggest turnover of NIS 246.6 million, on a large arbitrage gap, after acting CEO Eyal Desheh said that the company was committed to saving $2 billion. Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 3.4% for the biggest loss on the index.
Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 4.5%, on reports that it was about to lose control of Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. as part of a debt settlement. Subsidiary Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: ICL) rose another 2.8%.
Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) fell 0.2% on an Israel Air Force contract to upgrade Hercules transport aircraft.
Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 1.1% on reports that it is preparing a new streamlining plan, and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 0.3%.
NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) rose 1.5% and AudioCodes Ltd. (Nasdaq: AUDC; TASE: AUDC) rose 4.1%, after announcing deals.
