Wed: Teva down on flat market

Teva fell on the day's biggest turnover and Strauss Group reported the biggest loss on the Tel Aviv 25 Index.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) was flat today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index edged down 0.10% to 1,331.49 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index dipped 0.13% to 1,227.75 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.33% to 357.93 points. Turnover was NIS 1.1 billion.

The TASE was flat today, in line with mixed sessions on European markets and at the opening on Wall Street.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.49/$, down 0.23% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.732/€, unchanged from the day before

In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government were mixed. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.04%.

In the stock market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.3% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 88 million. Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) rose 1.6%, for the biggest gain on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Strauss Group Ltd. (TASE:STRS) fell 2.1% for the biggest loss.

Small-cap life sciences companies BiondVax Pharmaceuticals Ltd. (TASE:BNDX) rose another 6.9%, on top of yesterday's 8% gain; EndyMed Ltd. (TASE: ENDY) rose 4.7%, after obtaining a Hong Kong patent for its ultrasound depilation device; and RedHill Biopharma Ltd. (Nasdaq: RDHL); TASE: RDHL) rose 0.6%, after closing a private placement.
