Attorney General to close "Bibi Tours" case

A police and prosecutor's team had investigated foreign trips by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he was an MK.

Attorney General Yehuda Weinstein will adopt the recommendations of the Israel Police and State Prosecutor to close the so-called "Bibi Tours case". A police and prosecutor's team had investigated foreign trips by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he was an MK. Sources inform ''Globes'' that in one of the two trips that was the focus of the probe, the investigation team obtained satisfactory answers, leaving just one trip to investigate.

The police and State Prosecutor's team have concluded that even if there was improper conduct regarding this trip, it is mainly ethical in nature, and does not justify opening a criminal investigation. Weinstein, who does not denigrate even one foreign trip and that a decision on criminal proceedings does not rely on quantity, also believes that the findings do not justify opening a criminal case.

The Bibi Tours case broke almost three years ago in a Channel 10 investigative report into the frequent foreign trips by the Netanyahu family when he was an MK and minister. These trips were financed by foreign businessmen and public organizations. The case went through many incarnations, including probes by the State Comptroller, the Attorney General, and the State Prosecutor.
