Sun: Delek keeps TASE in positive territory

The Leviathan partners rose strongly on reports that a deal with Woodside is close.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index edged up 0.05% to 1,300.25 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.19% to 1,201.89 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index rose 0.15% to 345.29 points. Turnover was NIS 603.4 million.

The TASE rose today, bucking losses on European markets and on Wall Street on Friday.

Options trading pointed to a 0.02% rise in the shekel-dollar exchange rate, compared with Friday's representative rate, to NIS 3.499/$, but to a 0.15% drop in the shekel-euro exchange rate to NIS 4.731/€.

In the bond market, long-term Shahar unlinked shekel government bonds and long term Galil CPI-linked government were mixed. The corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index rose 0.05%.

In the stock market, Leviathan partners rose strongly on reports that they were close to an improved deal with Woodside Petroleum Ltd. (ASX: WPL). Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) rose 6.4%, for the biggest gain among Tel Aviv 25 shares, and its oil exploration units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) rose 5.9% and 5.2%, respectively. Their partner, Ratio Oil Exploration (1992) LP (TASE:RATI.L) rose 6.3% on the day's biggest turnover of NIS 38.4 million.

Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) fell 1.9% for the biggest loss among Tel Aviv 25 shares. Telcos also fell, with Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) down 1.1%, and mobile carriers Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) down 1.8% and Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) down 1.3%

Small-cap oil exploration companies Israel Land Development Company Energy Ltd. (TASE: IE) and Modiin Energy LP (TASE:MDIN.L) rose 18.7% and 18%, respectively, after Ratio announced that it was in talks to acquire stakes in their Myra and Sarah licenses.
