Mifal Hapayis proposes running 5 casinos

A Mifal Hapayis survey found that most of the public supports a legal casino.

Incoming Mifal Hapayis - Israel National Lottery chairman and CEO Shimon Katznelson, outgoing chairman Avraham Katz-Oz, and members of the Mifal Hapayis casino team met today with Prime Minister's Office director general Avigdor Yitzhaki in his office. They presented a detailed plan for setting up a legal casino under Mifal Hapayis management.

According to the Mifal Hapayis proposal, a public casino will be established, the profits from which will be transferred to the state treasury for projects, such as a long school day, free higher education, a computer for every child, and so on. The casino will also allocate part of its profits to treatment of addicted gamblers.

As part of the business plan presented to Yitzhaki today, Mifal Hapayis is proposing the establishment of five casinos, located in Mitzpe Rimon, Ben Gurion Airport, the Dead Sea, Eilat, and in the vicinity of Mitzpe Rimon. The latter will be a Las Vegas-style gambling resort.

In preparation for today’s meeting, Mifal Hapayis commissioned a survey from Market Watch, managed by Avinoam Brug. The survey found that 57% of the Israeli public supports the establishment of a legal casino.
