Carly Fiorina cancels Israel trip

Meetings with the Prime Minister, Minister of Finance and Minister of Industry were cancelled at the last minute. HP's CEO was to appoint a new CEO for Hewlett-Packard Israel.

Sources inform “Globes” that Hewlett-Packard (NYSE:HPQ) chairperson and CEO Carly Fiorina cancelled her scheduled Thursday visit to Israel at the last moment.

The Hewlett-Packard PR office declined to comment. Fiorina's visit was kept confidential, and the company declined to confirm that she had ever planned to visit Israel.

Sources also inform “Globes” that Minister of Finance Benjamin Netanyahu had planned to delay his upcoming trip to the US in order to meet Fiorina. Meetings were also scheduled with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Minister of Industry Trade and Labor Ehud Olmert.

Hewlett-Packard Israel is still waiting for a new CEO after Ehud Graff resigned in December. Sources close to the company believe that Fiorina was going to announce Graff's replacement during her visit.
