Onset Technology raises $2m

Jerusalem Global Ventures invested in the start-up, whose software enables wireless handheld users to access enterprise network data.

Jerusalem Global Ventures has invested $2 million in Onset Technology. Onset Technology is the developer of a suite of software solutions that give business users access to virtually any data on their enterprise network using a wireless handheld device.

Onset Technology software is broadly compatible with virtually all wireless devices and servers including those from strategic partners Nokia, Microsoft, and RIM.

The current investment by Jerusalem Global Ventures is an extension of the $1.75 million Series C financing round by existing investors including the Catalyst Fund, Polar Communications, the Challenge Fund, and Manro Haydan.

Onset was founded in 1997 by Gadi Mazor and Ron Maor. Onset Technology’s headquarters are situated in Santa Cruz, California with an R&D center in Israel. The company employs 40 employees worldwide. During the past three years, company has ranked among the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 companies.

Following the investment, Jerusalem Global Ventures chairman and founding partner Dr. Shlomo Kalish will join the company’s board of directors.

Kalish said: “We believe mobile communications will be as ubiquitous as voice communications, and Onset is in a unique position to be a leader in this space.”
