Silicon Design Systems today announced the addition of Gemini Funds as an investor, and expanded the amount of its Series B investment funding to $9.2 million.

"We are pleased to have Gemini as an investor because of its special focus and emphasis on the fabless semiconductor business, which is an important target market for us," said Silicon Design Systems chairman Davidi Gilo. "We believe the semiconductor focus Gemini brings to the board can be very beneficial to our strategy."

Aben said, "We believe Silicon Design Systems is well positioned to take advantage of the changing dynamic and tremendous market opportunity that now exists for physical design. We were very impressed with the technical expertise of the team and the novel, integrated approach the company has taken with its K-Route convergent routing solution for nanometer integrated circuit designs."
